Ep 6. Mission Group – Change the Way You Look at Things, the Things You Look at Will Change
Perspective is everything, change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change.
Was 2014 your best year every? With the right perspective, the answer is YES!
Invest in yourself by surrounding yourself with the right people. One way to do this is to pick a percentage of your income that you want to invest in surrounding yourself with the right people and automatically set it aside. Dave threw the number 5% out there, so if you make $100,000 a year, you would set aside $5,000 a year to attend events, hire coaches/mentors, and surround yourself with the right people. Now I can tell you, the money that I have invested in surrounding myself with the right people has already been returned to me 10x. I would never have met Dave if I hadn’t and he has completely changed my life. I would have never met my real estate mentor Dave Michal, who you will meet and had the opportunity to become a partner in some highly lucrative real estate projects. And if you don’t have the money, offer to volunteer at the event, or simply say you want to attend the event but you can only afford X dollars.
There are mexiCANs and there are mexiCANTS. Rule #76, no excuses. play like a champion!
After hearing Dave talk about this, I realized this has been the best year of my life. This was the year where I started surrounding myself with inspiring influential people and we come together on a regular basis to enrich each other’s lives. This is the year I stopped associating success with money and started associating it with living a life of abundance and balance, personally, professionally, and spiritually. Sure, I had some challenges financially this year, but I’ve also learned that I am accountable for everything in my life, which means I attracted this situation to myself. And you know what, I’m grateful for the situation we were in this year. When Amy and I look back on it, we were spending so much much on a monthly basis, money we had no business spending. Sure, it was in the bank, but its not about what you make, its about what you keep. And I don’t care if you make a million dollars a year, if you spend it all, you are not in any better position moving forward… in fact, I would argue you are in a worse position because you become accustomed to a certain lifestyle, and until you can make that kind of income passively from your businesses and investments, that is not sustainable. Amy and I realzied that we needed to get back to the basics of identifying what was really important to us, and tightening the belt everywhere else so we could invest money to start building the passive income so we will never be in this situation again. For that, I am truly grateful, and can confidently say, this has been the best year of my life and I know 2015 is going to be even better!
